A Crimean Tatar Rustem Osmanov sentenced to 6 years for an alleged affiliation with Çelebicihan Batallion is now in a colony in Russian city Uljanovsk.

As the CHRG was told by the civil brigade of Rustem Osmanov, the heads of the colony were making him to take Russian citizenship and got to war in Ukraine.

We remind you that, in the end of December, Rustem Osmanov gave a letter, in which he told about his kidnapping in Genichesk and torturing.

  • As the CHRG reported, in April the Crimean FSS advised that Rustem Osmanov was apprehended in April 2022 “during an attempt to enter Crimea through road crossing point Armiansk”. “It was established that in 2016 the defendant, being in the territory of Ukraine, voluntarily joined the battalion, where he performed material and food procurement for the battalion, as well as participated in its military protection”, the report said.
