Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia Declared CHRG Activities ‘Undesirable’

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia “recognized the activities of the Ukrainian organization” Crimean Human Rights Group “undesirable in Russia.” This was reported by the agency press office.

According to the CHRG, the website of the Crimean Human Rights Group has been blocked in the peninsula since last year: at the moment an access to the information resource is closed at least in Simferopol, Sudak, Lenino, Kerch, Krasnoperekopsky and Bakhchisaraysky districts.

Then, in 2020 and 2021, there were at least 20 decisions banning the articles of the Crimean Human Rights Group to “be spread in the territory of the Russian Federation.” All publications were dedicated to illegal military conscription in Crimea.

The Russian law has long been a tool to restrict the activity of human rights defenders. Arbitrary blocking of the CHRG website limits the access of Crimeans to a significant amount of information on human rights protection.

Information on ways to avoid blocking sites can be found here. тут
