Political Prisoner Refat Alimov Got Out Of Jail

Refat Alimov, a Crimean Tatar and a political prisoner, finished serving his 8-years’ sentence.

This was reported by activist Mumine Saliyeva.

Refat Alimov was arrested on April 18, 2016, after search in his house in the village of Krasnokam’yanka at Alushta.

“Before his arrest, Refat had been fond of football and worked as a sales representative. Mother’s only son, beloved brother and uncle became a criminal for refusing to become a police informer,” Mumine Saliyeva writes.

As reported, on April 18, 2016, in the village of Krasnokam’yanka, Alushta District, FSB men searched the homes of Crimean Tatars Arsen Dzhepparov and Refat Alimov. Later, their cases were combined with the criminal case of Muslim Aliyev, Enver Bekirov, and Vadym Siruk, who were detained two months earlier.

On November 12, 2019, the Southern Area Military Court sentenced Muslim Aliyev to 19 years, with one year of supervised release, Inver Bekirov to 18 years, with one year of supervised release, Vadym Siruk to 12 years, with one year of supervised release, Refat Alimov to 8 years, with one year of supervised release, Arsen Dzhepparov to 7 years,  with one year of supervised release, Emir-Usein Kuku to 12 years, with one year of supervised release.
