Artur Memetshayev Sentenced to 6.5 Years in Penal Colony On Charges of Serving in Crimean Tatar Battalion

The occupation ‘Kievsky District Court’ of Simferopol sentenced Mr.Artur Memetshayev, a 33-year-old Crimean Tatar, to 6.5 years in custody for allegedly serving in the ‘Noman Chelebidzhikhan Battalion’.

As reported by the FSB, the man was detained this April.

“He has served in the Noman Chelebidzhikhan Battalion since 2016, he joined it voluntarily. Together with other men, he was searching people and cars in the border area,” the FSB said.

As a result, Mr.Memetshayev, aged 33, was sentenced to six and a half years in custody to be served in the maximum security regime penal colony.
