Advisory Council on De-Occupation Issues Established in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Edict No 579 on establishing an advisory council on de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

The Advisory Council under the President was established to facilitate the coordination of actions on de-occupation, reintegration and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens.

According to the Edict, Andriy Yermak, head of the PO, is to submit proposals on the composition of this Advisory Council within a month.

The main tasks of the Advisory Council:

  • preparation of proposals on the priorities of the Council’s activities;
  • activities within the Crimea Platform;
  • preparation of proposals for improving legislation on issues related to the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea.

The Edict shall come into force on the date of publication, i.e. August 15.

The Advisory Council shall be chaired by the President.
