Abdureshyt Dzhepparov, Crimean Tatar Human Rights Defender, Was Fined RUR45,000

“Kievskiy District Court” of Simferopol fined Mr. Abdureshyt Dzhepparov, a Crimean Tatar human rights defender, RUR45,000.

The men of the “Extremism Countering Center” in Crimea drew up an administrative report against him stating that he “had discredited the armed forces of the Russian Federation” under Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation by his posts on the Qirim Gayesi initiative page.

“Judge” Oksana Karachevskaya decided to fine Mr.Abdureshyt Dzhepparov RUR45,000.

Mr. Dzhepparov disagrees with the version of the “police” and considers the administrative case against him to be politically motivated.

“It was absurd, there was no evidence, no justification – an ECC officer just expressed his opinion, and this judgement was made based on his subjective opinion”, Crimean Solidarity cites the human rights defender.

Mr. Dzhepparov will be appealing this judgement in the appellate court.
