The illegal actions by the aggressor state as to the Crimean civil activist, Volodymyr ANANIYEV, and anticipatedly long term of imprisonment are critical for his state of health.
There was a conference “Volodymyr ANANIYEV – the Kremlin political prisoner from Ukraine, illegal actions of the aggressor state”.
Olha SKRYPNYK, the Chair of the Board of the Crimean Human Rights Group, claims that originally Volodymyr ANANIYEV was charged allegedly for the storage of explosive which was never found at his place. Once Mr. Ananiyev refused to cooperate with the investigation and reiterated his pro-Ukrainian stance, he was charged under yet another Article – for terrorism – which formally fell within the jurisdiction of the Rostov military court and envisaged longer period of imprisonment.
Anna SVYATNENKO, the spouse of Volodymyr ANANIYEV, gets the letters from her husband, she sends him parcels, but she has doubts whether her husband gets the medications [from the parcels].
“ No one is treated as a human being by the aggressor state. You see, my husband is 75 years old. He is not physically healthy, not young. His legs are ill, he uses stick to move around, his eyesight is poor. His both eyes are operated, he can hardly see, there is a glaucoma on one eye. His blood pressure is high. Taking into account his state of health, the charges of “terrorist act”, “preparation for terrorist act” sound beyond any logic”, – Anna SVYATNENKO stressed.
Andriy SHCHEKUN, the representative of the Krayova Rada of the Crimean Ukrainians, is sure that Volodymyr ANANIYEV is subject to political persecution.
«This is the persecution on the ground of nationality, it is discrimination of the Ukrainians in Crimea. Everything is being destroyed in Crimea: education, religion, culture. The FSB keeps an eye on everybody who shows the Ukrainian national identity. Evidently, the FSB apprehend the persons on spurious charges to break their will”, – Andriy SHCHEKUN pointed out.
Olha SKRYPNYK urges that long term of imprisonment is of particular danger for Volodymyr ANANIYEV taking into account his age and state of health.
This is the reason why the human rights defenders spare no efforts to draw as much attention as possible to Volodymyr ANANIYEV as well as to other political prisoners from Crimea so that any negotiations address the swap of the civilians.
«We are aware that the swap of civilians was harder to achieve, these swaps of the civilians did not occur that often and the detention of civilians was not confirmed by the russian federation. But we urge that any negotiations ahead shall address the swap of our civilians. As an option we find that we and our partners should name and advocate the swap of the certain group of the civil detainees, especially the group of detainees above 60 years old,” Olha SKRYPNYK claims.
In February 2024 the FSB claimed to have apprehended in Crimea the group of 3 persons (V.ANANIYEV, V.BODNAR and a female, SHEVCHENKO) who allegedly planned to bomb a car as instructed by the Security Service of Ukraine.
Volodymyr ANANIYEV was apprehended on 2 of February, on 5 of February the occupying “court” ruled to place him in custody. ANANIYEV is charged under para.1 of the Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the russian federation (illegal purchase, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of the explosives). In November 2024 ANANIYEV was charged under yet another Article – 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the russian federation (assistance in preparing for a terrorist act).
On 27 of February Volodymyr ANANIYEV was transferred to Rostov, Pivdenny District military court was to consider his case.
