The Ukrainian activist from Sevastopol Oksana SENEDZHUK is sentenced to 15 years of general regime colony, restriction of freedom for one year and is imposed a fine of RUB 200 000 for alleged “state treason”.
Oksana SENEDZHUK, 58, a philologist by education, had been working in the Sevastopol City State Administration before occupation. She had got awards for her job until 2014. She actively supported and participated in Euromaidan.
As the woman’s relatives told the CHRG, her persecution dated back to 2022 due to open pro-Ukrainian stance and her anti-war statements. She was summoned for questioning on several occasions. On 14 August her dwelling in Sevastopol was searched by the FSB. After apprehension Oksana SENEDZHUK was placed in the temporary detention centre, then in SIZO-1 in Simferopol where she stayed up until the preventive measure was chosen: on 15 August “Leninsky district court” of Sevastopol ruled to place Oksana into custody.
The woman was charged with the state treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of RF). According to the data of the occupying “inquiry”, the woman allegedly supported the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
On 26 December “Sevastopol city court” (“the judge” – I.V. Kozhevnikova) found Oksana SENEDZHUK guilty of “state treason” commitment.
The occupants claim that SENEDZHUK was allegedly recruited by an agent of the Ukrainian special service.
“Within a period from 2006 to 2014 he worked at the administration of Nakhimov district of Sevastopol. In 2015 he moved to Ukraine, but kept maintaining the relationships with SENEDZHUK. As instructed by him in March 2023 she observed, made photos and transferred to the Ukrainian intelligence the data on deployment of the ships of the Black Sea Fleet of RF”, – the occupying “prosecution office” stated.
The woman was sentenced to 15 years of general regime colony, restriction of freedom for one year and imposed a fine of RUB 200 000.
The Crimean Human Rights Group claims this prosecution to be politically motivated.
