Volodymyr Ananyev, a Crimean political figure, accused of attempted assassination of Aksionov, refused admitting guilt.
As reported to the CHRG by Anna Sviatnenko, Ananyev’s wife, the hearings in Ananyev’s case in the Southern Area Military Court are being held separately from the cases of Volodymyr Bodnar and Oksana Shevchenko, who are also accused of “preparing an assassination attempt” on Aksionov.
Ananyev’s case was supposed to be heard by a panel of judges on April 8, 2025, but since one of the judges did not show up, the hearing was postponed to April 15 and 20, 2025.
The day before, it was reported that the other defendants in the fabricated “case of the assassination attempt on Aksionov” — Volodymyr Bodnar and Oksana Shevchenko — had pleaded guilty.
In February 2024, the FSB is known to have announced the detention of a group of three people in Crimea (V. Ananyev, V. Bodnar, and a woman with the surname Shevchenko) who had allegedly been preparing to blow up a car as ordered by the SBU.
In January, 2025, the CHRG reported that the case of Crimean public figure Vladimir Ananyev had been transferred to the Southern Area Military Court in Rostov-na-Donu for further consideration.
It is now known that Volodymyr Ananyev was detained on February 2, 2024, and the occupation “court” took him into custody on February 5. Ananiev is charged under RF CC Article 222.1-1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of explosive substances). In November 2024, another charge was added to Ananiev’s case – RF CC Article 205.1 (aiding and abetting in preparing a terrorist act).
In February, 2025, the occupation “prosecutor’s office” of Crimea reported that it had approved the indictments against all the defendants and submitted them to the “court”. The occupiers stated the charges under RF CC Articles 30-1, 205-3b) (preparation for a terrorist act), 222.1-1 and 4 (illegal acquisition, storage, carrying, and transportation of explosive substances and explosive devices).
According to the occupation “investigation,” in February 2022, a Ukrainian citizen, whose criminal case has been severed into separate proceedings, allegedly “created an organized group to commit a terrorist act in the territory of Crimea.”
It is claimed that Bodnar and Shevchenko followed Aksionov’s routes and were later joined by “recruited” Ananyev, who “stored components for a self-made explosive device.”
