Oleksandr TARAPON, the resident of Crimea, is freed after he served his sentence of two and half years under the charge of “discreditation of the russian army”.

As the CHRG has informed, on 21 October 2022 the “Alushta court” passed a verdict to imprison Oleksandr TARAPON, the local resident, for two and half years in the strict regime colony within the proceedings on “the fake about the russian army” (Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code). According to the investigation body, a 31-year old male posted leaflets in the town about his spouse’s relative who had been fighting in the war against Ukraine. Seeking to stop the mentioned relative and to prevent other relatives from joining the war, TARAPON made leaflets saying “Here lives the war criminal – the kids’ murderer, ORLENKO Yu./ «Zдесь жиVет Vоенный преступник – убийца детей Орленко Ю.» [Z and V symbols] and posted them.
At the late December it became known that Oleksandr TARAPON had been unlawfully transported to russia. At the early summer of 2023 Oleksandr was transferred to the penitentiary no.3 in the Stavropol region.
In January 2023 the appeal [against the verdict] was considered: Nadiya SHKOLNAYA, the occupying “judge” “of the Supreme Court” upheld the unlawful verdict of 2,5-year imprisonment in the strict regime colony.
