A journalist, writer and activist, the head of civic organization “Kakhovskyi Platsdarm” Serhiy Tsyhipa from Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Region, who is being held in pre-trial detention facility of Simferopol, was accused of espionage (Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the RF, imprisonment for up to twenty years).
As is known, Serhiy Tsyhipa is a civil activist from Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Region, the head of civic organization “Kakhovskyi Platsdarm”, a journalist. On the 12th of March he was headed to Tavriysk to pass medicines to his mother-in-law. There has been no connection with him ever since.
A journalist Oleh Baturin kidnapped on the 13th of March, after being released, told that, during his detention in the building of Kherson Regional State Administration, heard the name of Serhiy Tsyhipa and his voice in one of the adjacent interrogation rooms. According to the information of Zmina, Human Rights Centre, as in the beginning of September, Serhiy Tsyhipa was being held in Crimea.
Only in October it came to light that Serhiy Tsyhipa was being held in PTDF No. 1 of Simferopol.
In the beginning of December it became known that a journalist, writer and activist, the head of civic organization “Kakhovskyi Platsdarm” Serhiy Tsyhipa from Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Region was moved to the new PTDF in Simferopol.
At that, in response to the information inquiry of Serhiy Tsyhipa’s lawyer to the FSS, they told that he was “being held in conditions, which exclude any threat to life or health”. The letter read that the FSS “is checking information about actions aimed at doing harm to the security of the RF during the SMO”.
