FSB Detained A Kerch Resident for ‘Wishing Death to the Russian Military’

A 30-year-old resident of Kerch was detained for ‘wishing death to the Russian military’ in Crimea. She may be facing up to 5 years’ sentence.

The FSB informed that ‘a resident of Kerch published text comments in the group chat of the Telegram messenger with calls to commit violent acts against a nationally identified group of people (Russians).’

Local publics are publishing a video allegedly from the girl’s page.

A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of the crime provided for in Article 280-2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum punishment under this Article is deprival from liberty for up to 5 years.

In addition, the detained may be held administratively liable for ‘defamation’ of the army of Russia (RF CoAO Article 20.3.3).
