As the CHRG reports, the last hearing of the Ananiev’s Case in the Southern Area Military Court was held on May 20, 2025, with the examination of the accused started.

Volodymyr Ananiev repeatedly declared his innocence and denied the guilt.

He stated a political persecution, as he had been detained just for the fact of being born in Western Ukraine.

As reported, in February 2024, the FSB stated the detention a group of three persons (V.Ananiev, V.Bodnar and a woman with Shevchenko as last name) that allegedly was preparing a car bomb attack as instructed by the SBU.

In January 2025, the CHRG reported that the case of Volodymyr Ananiev, a Crimean public figure, was sent to the Southern Area Military Court (Rostov-na-Donu, Russia) for a further consideration.

According to the information currently available, Volodymyr Ananiev was detained on February 2, 2024, and the occupation “court” took him into custody on February 5. Ananiev is charged under RF CC, Article 222.1-1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of explosive substances). In November 2024, another charge was added to Ananiev’s case – RF CC Article 205.1 (aiding in preparing a terrorist act commitment).

In February, 2025, the occupation “prosecutor’s office” of Crimea reported that it had approved the indictments against all the defendants and sent them to the “court”. The occupiers reported that the defendants were charged under RF CC Article 30-1, Part Article 205-3b) (preparation for a terrorist act), Article 222.1-1 and -4 (illegal acquisition, storage, carrying, transportation of explosive substances and explosive devices).

In April, 2025, Volodymyr Ananiev, who is accused of the assassination attempt on Aksionov, refused to admit his guilt. The other defendants in the fabricated “case of the assassination attempt on Aksionov” – Volodymyr Bodnar and Oksana Shevchenko – were reported to have pleaded guilty to the crime.

According to the occupiers, Volodymyr Bodnar and Oksana Shevchenko have signed pre-trial cooperation agreements.

On May 14, 2025, the Southern Area Military Court sentenced Oksana Shevchenko, accused in the fabricated “case of the assassination attempt on Aksionov,” to 10 years in custody and a fine of 500,000 rubles.
