The Kerch City Court sentenced Mr.Serhiy Yarovoy, a 36-year-old Yevpatoria resident, to one year in custody on charges of extremist activity.
A resident of the city of Yevpatoria, working as a qualified sailor on a ship moored at the pier of JSC B.E. Butoma Shipyard in Kerch, allegedly called on his colleagues to “kill Russians”.
“Using his own mobile phone, he publicly posted the materials found in advance that contained footage in which representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were calling servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation who were participating in a special military operation for denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, for surrender and were threatening them with reprisals, in the group chat including 23 persons.
After that, the sailor called two members of the ship’s crew to kill the servicemen who were participating in the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine that could constitute a specific social group, saying the following phrase: “Russians are occupiers and they must be killed,” the court’s notice states.
