The Crimean was found guilty of treason committed under martial law and voluntary participation of a citizen of Ukraine in the armed formation of the aggressor state (Criminal Code of Ukraine, Article 111-2, 111-1-7). He was sentenced to 15 years behind the bars with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the Press Unit of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office. According to the investigation, in February 2024, being in Moscow, the man voluntarily came to the military commissariat and signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on military service.
He was enrolled as a rifleman in one of the battalions of the First Motor Rifle Regiment, the Second Motor Rifle Division of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
After military training at the training center near Voronezh, the Crimean fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Kup’yansk front, Kharkiv Region.
He was among occupiers of captured territories, carried out the orders of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation commanders, arranged and strengthened checkpoints.
In March 2024, Ukrainian defenders captured the man.
