Two Sevastopol residents were given sentences in penal colonies for “calls for terrorism and extremism”.
“Sevastopol City Court” rejected an appeal and found a 51-years-old man born in the Sumy Region guilty of public appeals for extremism. This is reported by the occupation “UFSB” press office.
As stated by the occupiers, in January 2024 “Gagarinskiy District Court” of Sevastopol convicted the man under RF CC Article 280-2 (“public appeals for extremist actions committed via Internet”). The occupation “investigation” claimed that the man had published materials on social networks containing calls for violence against Russians. Earlier he had been already brought to administrative responsibility for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The man was sentenced to 2.5 years in the general security regime penal colony with the deprivation of the right to be engaged in website administration.
The appeal filed by the defence was rejected by the “Sevastopol City Court”.
In addition, another Sevastopol resident, aged 58, who once in the evening “was clamoring against Russia and the Government, including radical slogans, calling for the overthrow of the current constitutional order in the Russian Federation” from the balcony of his apartment in Khrustaliova Street, was also charged with appeals for terrorist acts.
The man was detained and a criminal case under RF CC Article 205-2.1 was opened against him. The Southern Area Military Court sentenced him to a year and a half in the settlement colony.
