Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, citizen of Ukraine, was sentenced to 5 years in the maximum security regime penal colony for the alleged service in the“Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan”.
The FSB reported that they allegedly detained Mr.Abdurakhmanov when he attempted to cross the border.
“The defendant, serving in an illegal armed formation on the territory of Ukraine, participated directly in the food blockade and other illegal actions in the border areas, and was a personal armed bodyguard for Lenur Isliamov,” the FSB reports.
A criminal case was initiated under Article 208-2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Organization of an illegal armed formation or service in it, as well as participation in an armed conflict or military operations for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation).
The “Kievskiy District Court” of Simferopol sentenced Mr.Abdurakhmanov to five years in the maximum security regime colony.

As the CHRG reported, on May 22, the Russian Guard conducted a raid in the village of Azovs’ke, Heniches’k district, Kherson Region. During the raid, the invaders detained Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, a resident of Azovs’ke (DOB – February 12, 1991), and took him to the territory of Crimea. According to preliminary information, he was “incriminated” with membership in the ASKER NGO and the civil blockade of Crimea and was kept in the Simferopol Pre-trial Detention Center.
On August 19, the “Belogorsky District Court” of Crimea sentenced Rustem Osmanov to 6 years in custody for allegedly serving in the “Noman Chelebidzhikhan Battalion”.
As the CHRG reported, on June 1, 2022, the Supreme Court of Russia declared the ‘Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan’ “terrorist” and banned it on the territory of the Russian Federation.
On July 21, 2022, the FSB of Russia added the “Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after N. Chelebidzhikhan” to the list of terrorist organizations.
At least 6 citizens of Ukraine have been detained allegedly for serving in the battalion. The persecution under this article continues.
