Crimean Muslims Oleh Fedorov and Ernest Ibragimov Sentenced by Russian Court to 13 Years

The Southern Military Area Courtof Rostov-na-Donu sentenced Crimean Muslims Oleh Fedorov and Ernest Ibragimov to 13 years each in the maximum security regime penal colony.

This was reported by activist Mamine Saliyeva.

‘Oleh (Ali) Fedorov – 13 years in the maximum security regime penal colony, with serving first 3.5 years in the prison, and Ernest Ibragimov – 13 years in the maximum security regime penal colony, with serving first 3.5 years in the prison’, she wrote.

Ms.Saliyeva added that ‘this criminal case is absolutely fabricated, with its context having a political component’.

‘Crimean activists were arrested and sentenced to horrible terms of imprisonment for their position, their opinions and activism, claiming their relation to the Hizb-ut-Tahrir Islamic political organization forbidden in Russia, through acting freely in Ukraine and some countries of the world according to the national law,’ the activist stated.

As CHRG reported, on February 17, 2021, in Crimea searches were conducted in Bilohirsk, Bakhchysarai, Simferopol, Sevastopol and the Sovietsky District of Crimea. Lenur Seydametov, Timur Yalkabov, Azamat Eyupov, Yashar Shikhametov, Ernes Ibrahimov and Oleg Fedorov were detained. They are accused of participating in the Hizb ut-Tahrir activities.
