The ‘Kievskiy District Court of Simferopol’ considered administrative offense files against activist Irina Kopylova, accused of violating the high alert regime for being at the FSB building on September 4.
“Judge” Evgeniy Pronin found her guilty and sentenced her to a fine of 10 thousand rubles.
The audience was not allowed to attend the session due to “measures for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.”
As the public defender Khatidze Mamutova said after the session, the court rejected the main motions of the defense, including the summons of the prosecutor, the officer who drew up the administrative protocol and the policeman who interviewed witnesses.
She also noted that she was planning to appeal the judgement.
As reported by the CHRG, blogger Rolan Osmanov, who was detained with the use of force at the FSB building on September 4, was fined today RUR15,000 by the “Kievskiy District Court”.
- We would remind that on September 4, security forces conducted five searches in Crimea followed with detaining five Crimean Tatars: Eldar Odamanov, Nariman Dzhelial, deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, cousins Asan and Aziz Akhtemovs, Shevket Useinov.
- With five Crimean Tatars having been detained, the Russian police detained 40 persons more: they came to the FSB building in Simferopol to get information about the destiny of their compatriots. These were activists, civil journalists, and relatives of fiver Crimean Tatars detained earlier.
