Stanislav Khudoley (Stetsenko), arrested for “high treason”, was taken out of Crimea.
According to the relatives of the detainee, he is now presumably in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, and a lawyer is trying to meet with him.
As Ms.Olha Skrypnyk, Chairperson of Crimean Human Rights Group board points out, unlawful imprisonment and removal from the occupied territory to the territory of the occupying power constitutes a war crime.
“We assume that Stanislav could have been detained for political reasons, as the case was in previous similar cases: he has been already the seventeenth detained under the articles of “espionage” and “high treason”. They are immediately sent to Moscow, to Lefortovo. In such cases, as a rule, materials are falsified, pressure as well as torture are applied to get “confessions” in order to use such cases as a propaganda tool. Now every effort is being made to find out the exact location of Khudoley in order to provide him with legal assistance,” Olha Skrypnyk pointed out.
The Crimean Human Rights Group would remind that 17 people have been imprisoned on charges of “espionage”, “preparation of sabotage” or “high treason” in the framework of cases initiated by the occupation authorities in Crimea. Most of those detained in such cases have been tortured to obtain “confessions”.
We would remind, that on June 24, 2021, the FSB of the Russian Federation announced the arrest of a resident of Simferopol, who was supposed to have “acted in the interests of the intelligence agencies of Ukraine.” A criminal case was opened against the Crimean resident under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason)
The same day, the “Kievsky District Court of Simferopol” arrested Mr.Khudoley until August 21.
The court stated that, according to the “investigation”, the detainee allegedly “collected and delivered information about the activities of the Aerospace Forces and the Navy over the territory of Crimea and the Black Sea, containing currently relevant data of military nature and, that could be used by a foreign state against the security of the Russian Federation, taking into account that their collection had been instructed by the Ukrainian intelligence agency. “
