Today, on December 4, the Public Prosecution has requested 17 years of the maximum security for Crimean Muslim Enver Seytosmanov, a defendant of the Sevastopol “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” at the Southern Area Military Court (Rostov-on-Don, Russia).

“I am asking to find Seitosmanov Enver Kyazimovich guilty and sentenced under paragraph 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for 17 years’ imprisonment to be served in the maximum security penal colony, with a restriction of liberty for 1 year and 6 months,” Prosecutor Igor Nadolinsky claimed in the court.

The prosecutor also requested to ban Seitosmanov, after serving his main sentence in the colony, on the following:

“Without the consent of a dedicated state body supervising the convicted serving the punishment in a form of liberty restriction, not to leave the house, apartment or another dwelling from 11:00pm to 06:00am. Not to go outside the territory of the municipality where the convicted person will live after serving his sentence, not to change his place of residence or stay. To come twice a month to the dedicated body supervising the convicted serving the punishment in a form of liberty restriction. ”

The Seitosmanovs, brothers Ernes and Enver, were detained by Russian security men on May 10, 2018 in the settlement of Tylovoye, Balaklavsky district of Sevastopol, after the searches. Ernes was later released, and Enver was handed an order on institution of criminal proceedings. He is charged with RF CC Article 205.5-1 (‘management of terrorist organization activity’).
