MONITORING AND DOCUMENTATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS AND WAR CRIMES IN CRIMEA
The Crimean Human Rights Group (HRG) is a non-governmental organization of Crimean human rights defenders and journalists, the purpose of which is to promote the observance and protection of human rights in Crimea by drawing wide attention to the problems of human rights and international humanitarian law on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula, as well as finding and developing mechanisms for protection of human rights in Crimea.
The KPG in its activities is guided, first of all, by the norms of the main documents in the field of human rights, namely: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Helsinki Final Act, the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, social and cultural rights and others.
During the preparation and dissemination of information, KPG is guided by the criteria of objectivity, reliability and timeliness. The KPG team includes experts, human rights defenders and journalists from different countries, who have been involved in monitoring and documenting human rights violations in Crimea since February 2014. The KPG focuses on human rights violations in connection with the illegal actions of the Russian Federation in Crimea.
OUR MISSION
Collection and analysis of information on the situation with respect to human rights in Crimea
Broadly informing authorities, international organizations, intergovernmental structures, non-governmental organizations, mass media and other target groups by publishing and distributing analytical and informational materials on the human rights situation in Crimea;
Promoting the protection of human rights and compliance with the norms of international law in Crimea;
Preparation of recommendations for authorities and international structures in the field of human rights;
Ensuring the presence of the "subject of human rights in Crimea" in the information space.
