To remind: ‘YUNARMIYA’ (Young Army) is a Russian children’s and youth military organization under the Russian Ministry of Defense. It is distinguished by radical propaganda among the Russian youth. Children from 8 years old become members of the organization. Experts of the Crimean Human Rights Group consider the Russian “YUNARMIA” an illegal semi-militarized formation.
According to the CHRG, only in Crimea in 2021, about 4,000 children were admitted to YUNARMIYA Russian paramilitary children’s and youth organization.
According to the official data, there are 874 YUNARMIYA units, consisting of about 29 thou children, in Crimea and in Sevastopol. Since 2019 the similar units have been established in the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions uncontrolled by Kyiv.
