In December 2021 the Crimean Human Rights Group monitored again the FM radio broadcasting in the north of the peninsula. Compared to the previous monitoring of this September, the signal of some Ukrainian FM radio stations has become more accessible to the residents of Crimea in Northern Crimea,
On monitoring, Ukrainian FM radio stations were unavailable in 3 out of 19 settlements checked. These are the settlements of Vishnevka, Ishun’ and Krasnoperekopsk.
In the remaining 16 settlements, the signal of Ukrainian FM stations was accessible at some frequencies. At some radio frequencies, two radio stations can be heard simultaneously. As a result, the signal at these frequencies is currently garbled.
At other frequencies in these settlements, the signal of Russian FM stations is accessible in good quality.
In the settlements of Martynivka, Zavet Leninsky, Solionoye Ozero, Yermakovo, Zarechnoye, Dzhankoy, Lobanovo, Voinka, Zelenaya Niva, only one Ukrainian station can be heard. 2 Ukrainian FM radio stations can be heard in Armiansk, Ovoschnoye, Pridorozhnoye and Krasnoarmeysk, 3 – in Istochnoye, 4 – in Novoaleksandrovka, 7 in Predmostnoye.
Near the CHONGAR checkpoint, in the occupied territory of the peninsula, one can listen to programs of 8 Ukrainian FM radio stations, though only 3 Ukrainian radio stations can be heard on the Crimean side near the CHAPLYNKA checkpoint.
The Ukrainian radio station – NV – can be heard at a frequency of 99.8 MHz, in three settlements of the list, while “Zvezda” radio subordinate to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation broadcasts at this frequency in all other checked settlements of the monitoring list.
It should be noted that the broadcasting of Krym.Realii radio at a frequency of 648 AM was not available during the first half of the monitoring day in all the checked settlements.
According to radio station representatives, the Krym.Realii radio programs at this frequency are now available from 03:00pm to 07:00pm daily. At the same time, at a frequency of 105.9 MHz, broadcasting of this radio station is available in the previous volume.
